Claudette Larson was born and raised in New York where she earned her Bachelors of Science at the State University of New York (SUNY) New Paltz and her Masters in Social Welfare at the SUNY Stony Brook.  In 2004, Claudette decided to make the Midwest her home and came to the Twin Cities joining HealthEast Care Systems in downtown St. Paul providing clinical social work services both at St. Joseph Hospital’s Emergency Department and In-Patient Mental Health Unit as well as at the Bethesda Rehabilitation Hospital’s Brain Injury Unit. In 2006, Claudette became a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. In 2009, Claudette married and moved to New London, MN, joining Counseling Associates, a Behavioral Health Department of Swift County Benson Hospital and continued her work in outpatient psychotherapy, clinical supervision and became Supervisor of the In-Home Family Therapy program. 

Claudette loves working with all populations and considers helping others in the healing of Anxiety and Depression to be her forte’.  Most recently, Claudette has begun a journey of helping children and adolescents heal from emotional difficulties through Experiential Play Therapy and recently earned her certification as a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy.  Claudette is also a featured writer for the West Central Tribune’s Lifestyle Magazine, “Live It!” writing the “Life Happens” column.  Claudette is looking forward to sharing her experience and years of training with the local community around New London!
